Baroque Elements in my Flat
Baroque Firework
In the age of the BAROQUE there were two completely different views of the world. If one regards the historical background, then one can draw interesting parallels to today's lifestyles.. Related to my modest dwelling the following table shows some objects and their connection with one of the two currents of the BAROQUE, carpe diem (enjoying life and the moment, as well as vanitas vanitatum vanitas, an anti-materialistic attitude).

Live Your Day (Carpe Diem)
Spiritual Path
My Computer
That`s fun, isn' t it? For example playing games with friends, surfing in the net and letting my creativity run free!
My Aquarium
My aquarium means a lot of work for me, nevertheless if I regard the intact world there for an hour or so, that enhances my fantasy and I could almost forget myself. I meditate about life in general., without wars etc........
Playing the piano is just fun, too....I enjoy the moment..Although I am not a professional, I might compose my first world hit some time, and if not I'll nevertheless enjoy my keyboard..
The water column is something for my spirit. What great ideas have I alrady already got just by sitting in front

The two currents in the baroque opposed each other, it's better finding a middle path in life between fun and seriousness, materialism and idealism, sense and sensuality and I think my room is a good example for that theory, isn't it?

The Baroque Chair
A real baroque item exists in my flat, too: this armchair. If one thinks of the BAROQUE, often art and architecture in that time is meant.
